We had a productive meeting on February 15th. Below are some notes:
Our next meeting will be held virtually on Tuesday, February 15th at 10am. To join please contact [email protected].
Last year Veterans For Peace asked artists to write songs and create music videos around the theme of “Climate Crisis and The War Machine.” The US military is the largest consumer of fossil fuels and the largest producer of greenhouse gas emissions.
Tune in to the concert on February 12th at 7pm ET (6pm CT)! You can tune in to a LIVE CONCERT on the VFP Facebook Page or the VFP YouTube page, where they’ll be announcing the winners, airing the selected videos, and hearing more great music from the winners and some amazing honorable mentions. After the concert all of the videos will go up on the Veterans For Peace YouTube page. Check out the National War Tax Resistance Coordinating Committee's (NWTRCC) sign-on statement where you can state your refusal to pay for war. The NWTRCC network will promote this statement during the 2022 tax season. As Tax Day nears, the statement and its signers will be included in NWTRCC’s press release.
Our next meeting, scheduled for this Sunday, has been postponed. We are looking to plan an event for January/February 2022 to share information and insights about tax resistance at the start of the tax season.
November 5th-7th the National War Tax Resistance Coordinating Committee (NWTRCC) will be holding an online gathering, "Individual Resistance & Collective Power." There will be a panel discussion with members of Money Rebellion and Grup Antimilitarista Tortuga, a talk with Atty. Peter Goldberger, and War Tax Resistance 101 and 201 sessions. Pre-registration is required to gain access to this online event. |
